Remote reception weak
The remote for my truck is pretty weak and has issues locking and unlocking sometimes. I put in LEDs in the rear truck bed and they made it unusable so I swapped them back which is pretty disappointing. Any way to boost the reception in the truck transceiver?
The LED lamps you used produced interference the receiver was picking up.
The receiver may be in the upper rear passenger side of the cab to get a good interference level from those Lamps close by.
What range are you expecting from the remote Fob?
Remember your holding the Fob in your hand and it's not a big power transmitter for long range use.
.
My 2018 is a two way Fob on the 915 mhz frequency. This means it tells me what the system did in response to a request to remote start. If in sight of the truck, I can see the outside lamp responses, as well to a request to remote start, lock or unlock the doors. Led color bars on the Fob also tell the results.
I can increase the working distance by placing the Fob on my chin.
I also replaced the (cab) box lights with LED that do not cause interference.
No, there is no way for the transceiver to be boosted. If that were done, the interference level could even be worse
Find the limits and not try to get more out than the design will offer.
