Rebates
Heads up on rebates available for new F150s...
As we know, rebates change at least quarterly, and sometimes more frequently. I ordered my truck in early March and picked it up yesterday. Although the rebate on the truck itself has decreased, from $1,000 to $500, my dealer discovered several other "niche" rebates that, combined with the $500 rebate, total up to $2,750. My dealer noted that Ford doesn't always advertise these various rebates...your dealer has to look for them.
There is a $1,500 rebate for owners of certain other Ford vehicles new than model year '08, including Focus and Fiesta (not sure what other Ford vehicles are included...my '13 Mustang is not). We happen to have a '12 Fiesta, so we qualified for this one.
Then, there is a $750 rebate if you finance thru Ford Credit. We had not planned on financing at all, but decided to finance a portion of the purchase cost to take advantage of the rebate. We'll pay off the loan after the min 3 payments. With an interest cost of about $200, that nets out this rebate to $550.
So, total rebates on my new F150 (net of interest on Ford Credit loan): $2,550.

Yeah, even my salesman told me he's supposed to ask me to wait 3 months before refinancing, but he personally doesn't care when I refi, because it doesn't come out of his pocket. I'm gonna make the change in about 2 weeks, once I get all the Ford Credit info.
Multiple dealer inputs on another recent thread confirms that there is NO waiting period and NO minimum number of monthly payments before buyer can proceed to refinance a FoMoCo vehicle loan. With my last purchase, I took a $500 rebate and refinanced 17 days later, no problem.
