So where did you hard wire the lights to? Was there an extra wire to connect to or did you have to splice it into the wires leading to the lamps?

Bought an Opt7 and it burned out quick. Cheap Chinese garbage. $60 mistake. Beware!

So I got a light bar for Christmas and recently decided to investigate the install. I found this piece blocking the way and stopped to drink beer and smoke cigars. What the heck is it? It's on the right side above the bumper.

Also, has anyone come out with a wye connector yet to go to the taillight or is splicing the only option?

Picking up my Heise 60" tonight (had run, brake, turn and backup).

I have one of their LED lightbars in the front and its solid, so figured I would try their tailgate bar. I can post initial thoughts on quality later and then more detail when i install.

Any info on which wires to tap?

For those who are looking for the trailgate light bar... they are on my site. They are lit up red when lights are on, go brighter when you apply brake. Have left/right blinkers as well.

That's a catch bracket for reinforcement. It's found on trucks with the tailgate step.

Hmm. Sounds important. Anyone remove it?

Sorry, didn't see question.. Mine doesn't help lighten things up when backing up, but it doesn't interfere with the camera either.
