Default Rear end gearing

Hey guys, truck newbie here! Wondering about what the difference is in the gearing you order for the rear end of the truck? Going with the new 2.7 liter Ecoboost if that helps any. Thanks guys!

You really need to decide what you will be using the truck for. If you will be towing a lot, or running loaded you may want to go with the taller gear, 3.73 or whatever it is. Also if you will be putting on larger tires you may want the taller gear. If you will be using it mostly as a commuter car and empty most of the time the 3.31 will give best mileage. The 3.55 is a compromise between the two. Your call, you need to decide what use the truck will see, and what you are expecting out of it.

Default Rear end gearing

Excellent advice, thanks so much! Mostly will be a commuter and some weekend Home Depot trips.

Wouldn't the 3.31 gear set be the best for weekend warrior stuff and as well as the best for gas mileage with the 2.7L EB?
