Which rear diff fluid???
A tech told me on my 2010 f150 lariat, to go to an empty parking lot, and make like a dozen sharp left turns, and a dozen sharp right turns, at a fairly quick pace, after installing "2" bottles of friction modifier, that it might eliminate the "rumbling noise" (sounded like I was running over rumble strips). It worked.
I drove the truck for 2.5 more years, and never heard the noise again.
Was told the clutch packs were stuck together. Whether or not it was a fluke or not, I can't say. I do know the noise/feel went away, and THAT was all I did.

2 bottles of diff modifier - seems like alot. Course if there wasn't any in there from the factory I guess that might work.
The whole having had the 4wd system worked on has me concerned. I too would use either the ford fluid or say Mobil gear lube. (valvoline whatever).
But I have another question - are you sure you have a LSD in your expedition? I'm almost positive they aren't a factory option on those model years. Aftermarket there are kits but I don't know you could buy one with an LSD.
They did offer the Electronic locker - like what the F150 has - but that's not the same animal.
