Default Rattling from speedometer

So I just dropped off my truck at the dealership for a very annoying rattling noise coming from the speedometer. I know how dealing with them can be a pain, so I recorded a short video of the noise on my phone to give to the shop tech.

He tried to tell me they could only fix it, if they could duplicate the sound while driving it. I explained it doesn't happen all the time and said that's why I made a video for you.

We'll see what they do.

Here is the video, if anyone else has had the same problem and knows what it is, I Would appreciate any info to relay on to the dealership.

Couldn't just upload the file, think it was to big, so here is the link for youtube.

Any help appreciated..

Just got off phone from dealer... Saying they cant reproduce the sound, so they won't do anything until they can hear it. I told him the sound happens every time you drive the truck and that I would be more than willing to take them for a drive to show them the sound.

Then he asks where I got the lift put on. I bought the truck from the dealer and had the lift done through them as well, just so I wouldn't have to listen to the "Ohh its not covered under warranty cause of the lift." Rep told me he would relay information to the tech about me coming down to drive him around. Waiting to hear back!

I so love the customer service at dealers once you pay for a truck...

I'll get this escalated to your regional customer service manager, Inasogard. Please send a private message my way with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, current mileage, and best daytime contact number.

Well, trucks back in the shop again. The rattling noise from the steering wheel was the mini "motherboard" chip in the multifunction switch. The dealers idea of fixing it was to shove a piece of paper towel behind the chip and forcing it back in.

This time, they are ordering a whole new multifunction switch and attempting to fix the vibration coming from the steering wheel that caused the rattling in the first place. I was first told the vibration was being caused by the lift and the size of wheels and tires. So I decided to head to another dealer and test drive a brand new truck with the same 6" lift with the same size wheels and tires. And just as I assumed, the truck drove flawless, no vibration in the steering wheel whatsoever.

So after speaking with the Service Manager today, I told him about the other truck I test drove and suggested they do a complete check of the lift, re-balance all 4 tires and make sure everything was mounted correctly.

I'm hoping to get it back by the end of the week!
