I recently discovered that the plastic shield below the radiator (not sure what it is actually called) on my truck had lost whatever fastener was holding it in the center, so it had been catching air like a big scoop.
Circled in this pic:
You can't see it in the picture but it is actually torn on the ends from how it had been catching the air. I secured it in the middle with an M6 bolt and washer where it appeared it was supposed to attach. However it isn't clear to me how this is actually supposed to sit in here.
This is how it is now:
Is this supposed to actually sit on top of the metal supports behind the bumper, where the wire harness is sitting? I am in the process of replacing the transmission cooler lines because the way this thing was catching the air and flopping around, it wiggled the closest line in this picture to the point that it is leaking fluid where it comes out of the auxiliary cooler. I feel like it would be easiest to reposition this shield while the lines are out so I wanted to check before I pulled the lines off.
As an additional question, I found this socket and light bulb just sitting down in between the radiator and AC condenser. Does anyone know where this came from? I assume it's one of the marker light sockets, I wasn't missing any when I swapped out my lights a few years back and apparently this thing got hit in the front end sometime before I got it because someone had been in the front end (some of the push pins were missing and one of the headlight housings had a 2018 manufacture date on it). Guessing someone dropped it down in there when working on the front end and just got a new one instead of fishing it out or something.
