Default Rack and pinion

SO I was wondering if anyone else is having any issues with their rack and pinion popping with a 6” lift? Ever so often when I turn my wheel while driving slow my steering makes a popping noise. I’m also having the issue of the tie rods hitting the springs on the lift. It is a rough country with the spacers and I can’t find anything that will fix the popping and rubbing issues. Taking it to a shop Friday but don’t know what they could do to fix it.

Anybody have any opinions on the popping and rubbing issues?

Did you ever determine what was going on? What ended up happening with the tie rod issue?

Well come to find out the lift needed to be re-torqued and an alignment needed to be done. The lift being loose was causing things to shift and then make a pop noise as I turned. Hope this helped.

Thanks for the update. Mine has started to make a popping sound recently as well. I was wondering if it might have been a rack and pinion wearing issue as seen in previous year models. I’ll try to retorque everything and see if that’s the problem. Glad you were able to figure it out.

what ever came of this? I have a 6" RC lift and my rack pops something nasty when turning. took it to get aligned and still does it. the alignment guy said it was the rack bolts. said I need bigger ones, but they are the ones from RC.
