Before we get into it, I know, I know... chrome bumpers are great and all....
Here's my lead foot bumper... some rock chips forming rust. Is this something that anyone has had fixed w/o replacing the bumper or sending the whole thing in for paint?
I had the bumper on my 2013 resprayed and it turned out very nice. However, it is going to chip again. I recommend if you get it resprayed that you add a 3M clear bra. I did not do this on my current truck since I don't log a ton of miles, but that was not the case on my 2013. I had picked up a chip less than a week after the respray, so it is nearly inevitable.
After 5 years the painted front bumper on my 2006 looked like someone tried to sandblast it. I had PPF applied on the front bumpers of my 2011 and 2014 before they started chipping. I never had any issues with paint chipping anywhere else on the front of the truck so I only got the PPF for the bumper and I don't run a bug guard. I still see my old 2014 Tremor around here that I traded to a local dealer 3.5 years ago and the bumper still looks like new.
