I bought a Lariat in August with the chrome package. I put a Westin Bull Bar (chrome) on it and love it. I've usually blacked out my trucks and never had to care/clean chrome. Anything special I need to do? I travel a lot in winter and will be getting lots of salt and bug debris from warmer months on my truck.

Is there any sprays/waxes to put on?

 

With all of my trucks and my muscle cars, I just always put a couple good coats of wax on it to protect it from the elements. It definitely makes the bugs easier to get off as well as protects it.

As far as cleaning the chrome and getting bugs off, I always use a bug sponge with turtle wax bug and tar remover.

 

Be sure to keep the brake dust cleaned off regularly or it becomes really hard to remove. And yes, a good chrome polish or wax will help.

 

Thanks...I wasnt really sure and I've seen a few chrome trucks that were clearly neglected and it looked horrible.
