Default Question on price.

Looking at a 2016 XLT crew FX4 with V8,MSRP is $49,210,would it be reasonable to offer $39,250 or am I wasting my time with that?

That is very reasonable. I got my 2016 XLT Sport V8 4x4 for $39,300 + tax. This including wheel well liners, spray-in bed liner, and tinted windows.

I'm seeing 13-15K off. Start at 30K and go up. Probably hold around 36 or 37.

There is a whole thread devoted to what folks have been paying....

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/just-...?highlight=inv

I paid 79% of MSRP out the door (including taxes, tags, etc.). Read the other thread for some really good guidance.

Good luck.

I would offer $37,000 or $38,000 as a starting point. The most they can say is NO.
Also get offers from other dealers and play one against the other.
Your not going out to dinner or to a movie with them. Shop around. It's your money.
Most dealers will knock off at least $10,00 to start with.
Remind them the 17's are coming out and they need room on their lot.
Happy Shopping.

An interesting negotiating tactic-start at "i want this truck at 60% of your asking price please".

To the op-i recommend that you educate yourself on the dealer invoice price for your truck. Most deals end up settling very close to that number (some a little more, some a little less depending upon market conditions).

14 + off huh. They advertise the top sticker of 47,655 as the starting price. The bottom of the window sticker is 44,2xx. That's where you start at, so not as big a discount as would appear. Lying dealer.

Yea, what a scam. This is an example of why it is so important to understand ( and state for others) the true MSRP, invoice, etc. People who post dealer mad e up MSRP prices, or who ignore outrageous "documentation" fees and other crap are just fooling themselves (and unfortunately others).
