Are the side steps ordered as an entire unit or can you order the individual pieces?

The reason I ask is I'm on vacation and ran over the truck tire that blew in front of me and it broke the shock on the drivers side step.

I would normally look on the Ford parts website but it's not working on my phone. It kinda sucks because I just had both replaced under warranty right before we left.

 

Well, I don't know what year or model you have..... assuming it's a 15+.
