Question after accident
Long story short...
I have a new truck (2 months old,) and someone ran a red light and I nailed them. I am good was only going about 24 mph.
Total damage about 14k and this includes the frame replacement. I was at first shocked framed bent, but auto body shop said frame did what is was designed to do (absorb the impact) and odds are any make of truck would have had a bent frame.
Body shop said these newer vehicles are designed to easily replace the frame. Well, body shop said while it's easy it just takes time, about 30 hours to be exact. Crazy thinking about replacing a frame.
My question is, when going to settle with insurance - how will this affect the future value of my truck and the car fax? What would be a fair settlement for loss value on a Platinum screw?

You may as well have a salvage title, once someone runs a carfax, and sees the frame has been replaced, expect an offer of half of what an undamaged truck would be, same goes for dealerships, they don't want it on their lot. Everytime I trade one it, they always ask, has it been wrecked?
That's not to say the repair isn't up to snuff, buy the majority of folks out there read carfax like its the bible and either they run away from the vehicle or want it for nothing. Good luck getting diminished value, last time I tried (2014), they wound up totaling the vehicle to keep me happy, but that was "before" repairs, because I knew what kind of a hit I'd take if I wanted to sell it.
Hope it works out for you
