Default Question for this with Access Lomax

i purchased the Lomax tonneau cover from Truck Alterations and installed it this weekend. Overall I like it quite a bit, with just one concern. Hoping that any of you who also have this cover can opine. My concern is with the aluminum legs that sit on the forward-most panel when fully folded open. At the very moment that the legs first touch that front panel, the bare aluminum corner of the leg wants to scratch the panel it rests on. It has a piece of rubber attached, but the rubber doesn’t wrap the corners. So far I’ve been very careful with it and have no scratches, but it seems like it would easily gouge the panel if not super careful.

I called Access today and they weren’t much help at all. Anyone figure out a way to care for this?

My Weather Tech version which is supposed to be the same cover boots look like they are robust and will not cause any issues.

Thanks. So are you saying that the aluminum legs on yours are covered by some type of boot?

Yes mike have rubber covers. If you go to weathertech and look at the alloy cover, they have a picture which you can clearly see the boots

Yep just searched and saw what you’re talking. Different than what the Lomax has. I’d say the Weathertech approach is better.

Gotcha. I was only going off of all the posts and limited pictures I saw stating the WT and Lomax cover were the same with just different branding stickers.

I can see how one would want to be careful to not to "roll that rubber bumper" and cause the AL post to dig into the top.
