Default Production Time

A friend ordered a 2019 F150 on July 2. The Ford production tracking site shows a Sept. 29 delivery date. As of today, August 28, truck still hasn’t entered production. When can he expect production to begin? Shouldn’t 2020 production begin soon?

The truck will usually go into production 7-10 days before it goes on the assembly line. Tell him to ask his salesman for the build date he will be able to tell him. Judging by the 9/29 delivery date it should enter production any day now

The tracking site is okay, but not super accurate. Mine was ordered around April 29th, and was delivered at the dealer on May 23rd (roughly, give or take a few days). Even after I picked it up it still showed pending shipment on the tracking site.

Not sure about the new tracking site the old cotus was pretty damn accurate in my case anyway. I was on the road and checked cotus and saw my truck had been delivered. Immediately called my salesman and he told me the truck had landed 15 minutes before. He told me when the operator paged him for the call he laughed and told another salesman it was the guy with the silver truck calling lol

I know that Ford changed the tracking site and no one on the tracking thread posts screenshots as their truck progresses through the order process. I think this is too bad one of my fondest memory of ordering my truck was coming to the forum and watching people around me go through process and also share my progression.
