Default Problems with instrumental cluster

Good morning, colleagues. I'm sharing my situation and hope you can advise me on what to do. I have my 2015 F150, XL trim, which has a dashboard with a simple 2-inch screen, so I decided to swap it for an XLT trim with a 4-inch digital screen that I bought used. I had seen in videos that it could be easily swapped. It looks great, but what I didn't realize is that it now saves the mileage from the instrument panel I bought, which is higher and can't be replaced with the original ones my truck had. Aside from that, when I install the XLT instrument panel and start my truck, it throws up a warning and a code asking me to check my vehicle's 4x4 and that the hood is open, but my truck isn't a 4x4, and because it's a stripped-down trim, it doesn't have a sensor to detect if the hood is open. I hope you can give me some advice or answer my following questions:

1. Does the instrument panel have some kind of memory? I've stored data from my previous vehicle.

2. Since it doesn't have the sensors used by the XLT instrument panel, and mine is the XL version, it will display these warnings. Is it possible to disable these functions with a scanner?

3. How can I reset or erase previous information from this instrument panel I purchased?

4. Can I modify the mileage and restore my vehicle's original mileage?

Thank you very much for your support.

As far as I’m aware, you must buy a cluster with lower miles than yours. You can only add miles when using forscan and not remove.

1. Yes

2. Maybe FORSCAN can deactivate those functions and those more familiar can chime in which leads to…

4. Speedometer programming services. eBay advertises them. Maybe @Clusters by Livnitup could take care of all of that for you in one shot.

You should have aimed for a Lariat cluster if dealing with all that mess. YOLO.

That's right, my friend, it's one of the best options, but I found out too late. Now I want to see if there's any way to fix it or go back to the other instrument panel. Thanks a lot.

Hehehe, I know, mate. If I had known the problem I was getting into, I wouldn't have done it. I want to see if it can be fixed or if I should go back to the 2-inch instrument panel. Thank you very much.

I'm confident Clusters by Livnitup (Clusters by Livnitup - Ford F150 Instrument Cluster Sales & Programming) can provide the help you need. He can set the new cluster to match your truck's current mileage, and he can add the correct asbuilt data (based on your VIN) so the cluster works as expected, and it comes ready to be installed (takes less than 15 minutes to install). I think it is best if the new cluster is of the same model year as your truck, but again, Clusters by Livnitup can tell you what will or will not work. He has done it for many of us. You have nothing to lose by contacting him. Look at the referenced web site as prices are listed under the Programming Services option. He is an excellent vendor as you can see by reviewing this thread.... Gauge cluster swap - Page 231 - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans

BTW, the mileage is stored in the cluster itself, but Livnitup can set mileage as needed (you have to prove mileage). Keep in mind, the mileage is stored in 2 other modules in the truck but worst case, re-install your current cluster and it will display your current mileage. The cluster upgrade is one of my favorite upgrades on my truck. Good luck and enjoy!

You're going to need to have the cluster programmed by someone like me that can lower the mileage, engine & idle hours to match your truck and program the cluster for your factory build options so there's no errors/warnings on the screen. If that's not something you want to do then plug back in the 2" cluster.
