Problems with Apple CarPlay navigation
I ran into an issue with Apple Maps while using CarPlay on my 2020 F-150. The first time I saw the problem was on iOS 14 back in September. It happened again this weekend and I'm on iOS 15 now.
Here's the problem: While using Apple Maps for navigation through CarPlay, my current location will suddenly jump to what looks like a few miles from where I'm actually located. Apple Maps will then start trying to reroute me back to the correct route, repeatedly. If I disconnect my phone from my dash while leaving Apple Maps on, it will immediately show my location as being correct on the phone. If I plug it back in my location jumps back again to the wrong spot. I've tried restarting my phone, using different phone cables and using the different USB jacks that are available in my truck. The only way I've been able to fix the problem is to shut my truck off for several minutes and then reconnect the phone.
I've searched on the internet and have found multiple reports of similar behavior, not limited to just Ford vehicles. Makes me wonder if it's an iOS problem and not a vehicle problem.
Anyone else see anything like this, and any thoughts on how to fix it? As it stands right now I can't trust Apple Maps through CarPlay and instead have to use it on my phone only, rendering my nice 8" dash screen useless for navigation.

There’s a place in Rhode Island where the navigation in my truck brought me to a HUGE circle (I set navigation from a funeral parlor outside of Cranston to my home in Connecticut) the directions brought me to an area WAY off the beaten path, my wife who's from Rhode Island had no idea where we were, this error added 40 minutes to our trip home.
I have iPhone 15, ios 15 (that I kinda regret updating to). Today my Google maps was glitchy, no reason. It at times makes a 'bong' sound, it's crazy. Happened with an iPhone 7 as well, so it's a Ford carplay thing. To the OP: maybe completely unpair your phone, reboot it, then repair it.

I haven't tried a different maps app yet. When researching this problem on the internet I found lots of reports of the problem occurring for people regardless of which map app they were using. But it's worth a shot, I downloaded Waze last night and will give it a try the next time I'm out.
I like Waze because of some features it has, like someone can pass by an accident, or debris on the toad, and mark it. Then as you approach that, Waze tells you about it. Same with Police, as long as people driving hit the report option.
