Default Powerstop Calipers?

I'm considering changing all four corners over to Powerstop Z36 brakes, pads and calipers. I have a sticking RR caliper which has glazed and started to score the rotor and based on my last inspection when I changed wheels and tires over for the summer, the front pads and rotors are also ready to be changed out. So I started looking and found the full kit with calipers. Based on the price of the kit, which includes pads rotors and calipers for $1,100 (including core) at Rock Auto, I assume these are remanufactured powder coated units.. Looking for feedback on the calipers or if anyone has installed the full system.

Wow, you must drive a lot for the entire brake system to undergo those failures so early!

Good luck. I can't contest to changing calipers (seems unnecessary) but Powerstop pads are often used.
Are you getting the cool looking drilled/slotted rotors in that kit?

I installed Powerstop Z23 or Z36 brakes and calipers on my 2002 F150 and they where just powder coated refurb units. It didn't take very long before the powder coat started to lift and flake on the calipers. While I love the red caliper looks, I probably wouldn't buy them again based on my last experience with them.

I bought the Z36 kit from Rock Auto for my last Jeep. It was refurbed powder coated calipers / pads / rotors. Made a huge difference. I had them on for about a year before I sold it. No complaints.

I am not sure if you made a decision, but the PowerStop calipers are WAY overpriced. They are remanufactured calipers with powder coating. I purchased the kit with brake pads and rotors. My "black" powder coated remanufactured calipers were sourced from Napa. I am not a fan of the red nor their price.

I looked into the kit myself, didnt know they are refurbished calipers good to know. You can probably source the pads and rotors without needing the calipers.

do you have cable or electronic e brakes? Will they work with either setup?

Cheap rubber and poor-quality powder coating.

Yikes! I see you are up in the Northeast. Could you provide more details on the age at which this happened? One of my concerns was on the quality of the components. Their marketing team says the calipers use high temp EPDM that should last. Your real world example says otherwise and confirms that the coating does not last. I'd rather have non-coated then schiddy looking coated ones.

Ordered from Rock Auto on 11/4/2018. New brakes ordered 1/16/2021. 2 years, 2 months, 12 days.

I live in Tennessee. While I don't recall the rubber breaking down like that on mine, my calipers didn't look much different from that. I drove my truck, had 320,000 on it when i got rid of it. I think the calipers only had 120,000 of those miles.
