Powerfold Mirrors
Alright, so I am on the fence between a 302A XLT and stepping up to a Lariat. While there are a lot of things to consider in terms of differences between the two (8" cluster screen, auto 4wd, push button start, etc), there is one item in particular I am curious about.
From all the materials I have read, the XLT does not come with powerfold mirrors in any form (normal or TT). This is a problem for me as I park in a garage nightly and need to be able to fold my mirrors (and have no desire at -50F to get my happy butt out of the truck and fold them myself).
Does anyone know if adding these mirrors after the fact will be "plug and play" (I.E. the wiring is already there on XLT trucks)?

I don't blame you and you are exactly correct. I want the power folders, but not a laret package.
I did spring for the [59S] Puddle Light / Spot light package. I had the Puddle light on my '98 Mk VIII and really liked them.

honestly, if you park in a garage nightly, -50 degree weather is a no arguement, but if you park outside all the time, you have a point. I would just do the upgrade. I have them on my lariat and i think they're cool and I use the too...condo garage.
My 08 did not have them and i never folded them with only an exception or two
