Default Power steering and Auto Start/Stop

My power steering loses pressure when the Auto Start/Stop turns the engine off. It is sometimes a problem if I need to turn immediately after the engine comes back on. It takes a second or two for the power steering to build pressure. Is this normal?

Truck is a 2017 KR 4wd 3.6L EB

Isn't the power steering electric? It will not work well with engine off.

No, it isn't losing "pressure"...it isn't hydraulic.

Your power steering is 100% electrically driven by an electric motor. It will remain powered as long as the battery is good and if otherwise, the auto SS would not turn off the engine if the BMS, battery management system, detected a low battery state of charge. If concerned, just turn off Auto SS.

That is normal, you can also turn the wheel a little, and the engine will restart.
