If and when they find the issue and fix it, please let us know what it was and the fix.

So I finally got my truck back from Ford with no work done to it. The issue never happened for them after I fully charged up my battery prior to having it towed to them. They had it for 4-5 days, it poured while they had it as well, they drove it around, scanned it and had no issues. They gave it back to me and didn't charge me. The service desk person I was working with told me she didn't know what she could charge me for since they didn't fix anything, which was very nice! I was expecting at least a diagnostics fee.

So in the end, I think I just had a weak battery, or Ford's BMS told my truck it was time for a battery replacement and it started going haywire. After fully charging my original battery and resetting the BMS, all seems to be working well. The battery I bought from AutoZone must have not been fully charged when I swapped it in causing the same issues. Both my original battery and the one from AutoZone showed less than 80% charge on my battery tender when I hooked them up after the fact, both were reading 12.4-12.5V on my multimeter. I returned the battery to AutoZone and bought a new Ford battery which is arriving today. I'm going to put this new one on my tender and make sure it is fully charged up, then swap the new battery in, reset the BMS again and be on my way. Hopefully this doesn't happen again!

OK..................... I'm not convinced this will be the end of Hockey369"s issues. Hockey369 please kept a running list of events for awhile concerning these issues so all of US (the forum) can think on it.

The reason I THINK issues will return are in Hockey369's #1 post - "Today I took my truck to pick up my son and when I started the truck, the left blinker started to flash very quickly. I turned the left blinker on and it still operated slowly, but when turned off it went fast." and "I tried to get the ignition to stay on so I can use forscan to reset the BMS, but it kept turning off within 2 seconds." . WHY would not the alternator be operating at these times and providing voltage to properly operate turn signals OR keep the truck running if it where JUST a weak battery?

Did the dealer provide you with a list of any DCTs or did you get a list of DCTs via Forscan sometime during your issues (besides your post #11)?

I pulled the DTCs with Forscan and Ford confirmed those were the only ones. I was able to pull the DTCs after I fully charged by battery prior to the tow truck picking it up to bring to Ford.

But I agree, this is strange for it all to be fine with just a fully charged original battery. I'm not convinced this is the end and next time it happens, I'm just going to leave it alone and tow it to Ford with all the lights flashing. They couldn't do anything because there were no symptoms when it was there.

I did however notice my passenger side carpet was wet under my rubber mats. This hasn't happened before, so I contacted the people who replaced my window and they are going to test the window for leaks. Maybe after all this, something was shorting out and finally dried up enough to run properly? It has rained since, but not nearly as hard as it was raining the day before this happened.

When testing the windshield install, please ensure they have ALSO protected your interior electronics if there is any water entry, particularly the BCM (Body Control Module).

ADDED - Have you checked moonroof drains along A-pillar, some threads mention those.

Just another observation. I have seen threads on this forum that indicate the HAV condensate drain line thru the firewall at the passengers feet can also malfunction and cause the "passenger side carpet was wet under my rubber mats". I do not believe this causes any electrical issues thou, just wet, smelly carpet.

Thanks for the info on that. I'll look into the HVAC drain as well. It seems it was a service bulletin to fix the HVAC drain with an elbow.

Knock on wood, but I have had no issues since charging my battery. I have a new one in my garage now on the tender getting it ready to put in for peace of mind before the winter comes.
