Possible auto start/stop engine damage?
Is it possible for the start/stop to damage your engine? The reason I ask is the wife reported the truck hesitating then jerking away from lights a week ago. I wasn't able to replicate it...until I just rode with her, what was happening was she would leave the start/stop on and when she came to a red light and it turned off when the light turned Green she was right back on the gas before it was 100%turned back on resulting in a hesitation and a jerk.
So my question is if I can't get the wife to either wait a half second for the truck to be ready or to turn off the start/stop could this result in eventual damage to the engine and transmission?
Yes, I know the easiest solution is to not let the wife drive but I seriously don't feel like spending my weekends hauling planting supplies

My question would be why can you not get your wife to wait the extra half second? Any jerking around of any mechanical device is going to cause premature wear and eventual damage. I would think hearing the cost of the transmission would be ample cause to let it do it's thing rather than rush it.
