Default Possible 4x4 problem?

When I am driving down the highway and hit and bump it sounds like gears trying to make contact kinda like grinding from the driver side steer. It doesn't happen at low speeds only on the highway and it doesn't happen in 4x4 only in 2. I recently changed my struts and I am thinking something got in the hub locker but I am not sure. Any ideas?

First, more info is needed. Trim level of truck, year off truck, who did the work?
Try this to narrow it down, pull the power to the solenoid and see if this makes a difference.
