maybe you can make the door go up higher to clear the top of the opening if it's not now
IF you have the right garage door opener getting the door to lift totally out of the door opening is reasonably trivial. Either there is a travel (up and down) adjustment on the opener itself OR you can shorten the rod attaching the lift mechanism to the door. That is what I did in preparation to getting a truck.
Then I changed class of truck and will be getting a 2017 F 150 screw 4x4 Plat when the recall is fixed. I am drooling. Moving out of a 2009 EB Expedition
This question may be like beating a dead horse to some of you but.. I just got my '18 Platinum (black) today.
I want to get BLACK mirror caps and door handles ASAP! I've searched for hours and seen so many options.. there must be a "best" place to get them. I want the best quality or OEM. Any way to get gloss black mirror caps and handles to swap out without having to find a shop to "paint match" and paint them?
Also, anyone want to either PM me or just reply and explain your best found leveling kit out there that everyone seems to like the most? (2" or 2.5"?) And I really am craving the moto metal razor wheels but no one seems to be able to tell me how high I HAVE to go to get them to fit (and trim "crash bars"? don't know what that is). Sorry for all the questions. I figure these are the most common questions that everyone has so hoping someone can quickly answer these few things in one bang! Thanks in advance gents.
You can see the pic of my truck above...I went with a 2.5” level from Auto Spring and netted just over 2” of increased height. I’m happy with it for ~$100 shipped.
I too have no idea what the “crash bars” are and have been too lazy to google it. Apparently people bend them a lot? Who knows...

P.S. Having my tailgate applique wrapped next week in "black brushed steel" -- I'll post pics afterward in case any of you are interested.
Does anybody know the surface finishing material of the tailgate applique? and the grill, for that matter? How to properly polish them? I washed the truck by hand and left some broad scratch marks, like swirls. They wouldn't go away with turtle wax polishing compound or waxing. Should I use scratch remover of this type of surface won't work with those?

Use a good car wrapping film, much of heat ....then it works
Ok Gents- Just had the tailgate painted in matte satin black, door handles and mirror caps painted body color, and put Hankook Dynapro 305/55r20 with XD Heist Wheels on -- all yesterday.
Still need to get the F150 badges done in either a matte or satin black. I purchased the Lariat black door sills (to replace the Platinum chrome) but haven't put them on yet. And I'd like to get the STX / Sport / Special grille.
Otherwise.. Here you go for now..
