Default Piston boot shredded

Did a front rotor / pad swap tonight. One of the piston boots on the drivers side was absolutely mangled. Half of the boot was shredded. Ugh.

Anyone have to replace a boot? I assume I have to remove the piston ... haven't looked into it yet and I really don't want to drive the truck.

I would not reuse the caliper. Your best option is to purchase two remanufactured calipers from a parts store and replace them.

Don't cheap out on front brakes, get remaned or new calipers.

I had the same happen to me. Tried replacing the boot, and it was a huge PITA. I just ended up getting a new caliper.

Thanks folks. Yeah, I have to bite the bullet and do a replacement caliper. Sucks.
