Default Permenantly remove P0420 code????

My mechanic was telling me that I can permanently remove my P0420 code via some software he can get his hands on. He explained that here in Canada, cats are back-ordered from 8 months to 4 years, and that this method is now being allowed to be implemented.
Cost of the software is suppose to be $345.00 or around there.
Has anyone heard of this soft ware fix?????? If so, can I buy it myself and install?

I haven't found anything online or in this forum, so I thought I would ask.

P.S.
I am not talking about the O2 Sensor extenders....

You aren't at all worried about the bad cat clogging and blowing the motor?

My readings are like .013 off the allowed numbers. It's not clogged.

It’s not street legal, at least not in the US, but most tuning software will allow you to disable any and all CELs.

If I was going to permanently disable the cat codes due to the above described issue, I would gut the converter to make sure it didn't clog up. HP Tuners can turn the codes off.

Just my opinion.
As long as inspection will consider the parts supply issue as a reason to pass the vehicle otherwise, put up with the code until the part is available.
If the Cat blocks up exhaust flow, the engine will have less power as a clue.
Otherwise, the CEL will mask any other fault unless checked with a Scanner to see more that the 430 code.
Disabling the code in program will not do any good but put the CEL out.
The light on is all you have.
If inspection looks at the Pids, it will see the bank is missing anyway and still know it's not correct to be missing.
These parts situations are getting really bad!.
Good luck.

I'd have no problem with removing a P0420. Easy to know if the cats are clogged but majority of the time they are just not quite meeting efficiency.

I don't know how an OBD check would work for smog and if removing the code clears the readiness monitors, etc. I have no experience or knowledge of actually removing it.

I'd probably try a "plug fouler" spacer on the downstream O2 sensor first. Made a custom one on a lathe with a small hole in the end and it keeps it from flagging with no cat at all.
That was used off-road, of course.
