Default Pcm strategy question

Few months back I posted about a friends Ecoboost blowing up. Truck had a new short block and ect installed.
Truck runs great, actually much better than before the motor blew, reaching about 18psi of boost and spins tires pretty good through 1st gear and even barking 2nd.
My truck stock is like 14psi and 20psi tuned and have no tire spin.

Friends: 2015 145" 2wd lariat with 3.55s stock 20s

My truck: 2016 157" 4wd lariat 3.55s stock 18s

Anyone have any input on why his truck would run so strong being all stock?

Sounds like he has his traction control completely eliminated somehow.

It could be a number of things, but I'd say as long as your vehicle is still fairly new, there may be a difference PCM parameters as you suggested. If you haven't had the 5-4 shift TSB done, you probably can and it'll be a way for you to get the newest calibration.

Maybe you have a 2 piece drive shaft ? Don't know if that would make a big enough difference.

My truck has a build date of 6/16. Stock my transmission feels fine, MPT tune I took out because the shift strategy on it sucked.

His truck doesn't smoke tires (unless he wanted to), but sure as heck pulls hard with tire slip.

I could understand my truck being heavy and longer but hes getting 3-4psi of boost over my stock

Mind blowing and upsetting lol

My 2013 FX2 on 20s and 3.31s would roast and wheel hop with my MPT tune.
2016 isnt a dog, but isn't a beast

My truck is like yours OP, except an XLT and with double press of traction control I can spin 1st, 2nd and bark in 3rd, with my tune. Without the tune i bark in second. Do not know my PSI but I can hear it with window down. Also I have 2 piece drive shaft.

Whose tune are you running? Im thinking my truck has a problem. PRX 93 from MPT and I can bark 2nd but doesnt even attempt to break loose
