Default Passenger side blind spot mirror useless!

Is it just me, or do others find the passenger side convex blind spot mirror useless? I noticed the other day that objects on the side of the truck show up at the same time on both mirrors. It makes the little convex mirror redundant with no better view to the side.
I was thinking of mounting one of those sticky-backed mirrors over the original convex part of the mirror. Has anyone done this already? If so what did you find worked best?

Don't have any info on that, but I think you'd find a group of people activley debating these things over here ===> https://www.f150forum.com/f118/outsi...irrors-315215/

They might have some suggestions.

I have same issue with my XLT. Passenger side blind spot mirror shows same or less than main mirror. I talked with the Ford dealer and they showed my a bunch of other trucks, all the mirrors look the same. They did not mount them at the correct angle. Since they all look the same, I did not bother asking for a replacement. I'll try to contact Ford directly and see if they are aware or have a fix. Worst case, buy a full mirror with no blind spot mirror.

Same here... actually, the blind spot mirrors on both driver's and passenger side mirrors show very little incremental coverage.

As a result, I drive with both mirrors turned far out.

If only they'd teach people how to set up their mirrors properly in driving schools...
My F150 has no blind spots, i barely need to shoulder-check and can see all around me at all tines...

My blind spot actually is set up right. I like the big mirror to show just the edge of my truck and the blind side mirror shows a wider view. This way I can see if some biker is driving just right next to me - which the mirror would miss if it was swung out wide to catch the other lane.

Really hard to beat a $5 set of 3" stick-on frog-eyes. I stuck them on the bottom outside corners of both mirrors, provides a nice additional "view" of what's beside you.

Truck driver for eight years

Mine are set up for the regular mirrors to just show the back corner of my truck that way I can look out the window and see the front of the vehicle passing when the blind spot mirror is showing the last three quarters of the vehicle.
