Default Part # identification

I'm looking to add lighting to my mirrors and thought of puddle lights. My truck didn't come with them from factory but on the underside is this cap. I can't find any information online, through Tasca or on here. From what I've seen online, puddle lights would be too small to mount up or in this spot.

Unless I'm overthinking or clueless and looking at it differently, I can't think of what this would be for. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Cruz.

My XL mirrors have that small door also. Its where the cameras mount on the higher end trims that have 360 camera view. The puddle lights mount further out under the mirror body.

Thank you for clearing that up. I didn't even think of the cameras on the upper trim models.

It's most likely something needed during the manufacturing or assembly process or for cameras. Below is the pic of the light and temp sensor from my 2020 XLT w/BLIS/puddle lights/spotlight that I have sitting in the basement since I've upgraded to tow mirrors.

I didn't realize that mirrors came with temp sensors on them either. Thank you for bringing that up.
