I think it is a cleaner look to have headlights only and not have front parking lights.

If your vehicle has to be safety inspected it should fail the inspection as Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, §571.108, S5.5.7 (b) requires that the tail lamps, parking lamps, license plate lamps and side marker lamps all be illuminated when the headlamps are activated (does not include DRL).

Thanks for setting me straight, I did not know that the parking lights were required to be on when the headlights were on.

Parking lights are also position lights, and help outline your vehicle if a headlamp goes out while you are driving at night so others can see it. They've been required to come on with the headlamps since the 1960s.
