What year is your truck? I would try this first:

How long does that stuff last, I don't like having to reapply it every couple of weeks/months

I thought you had an older truck with the black plastic fading. A 2017 shouldn't look that bad.

This is from Amazon:

Question:
How often do you have to reapply after initial use? How often do you have to reapply after initial use?
Answer:
Really depends on how much time and effort you spend on the first coat... I spent a few hours doing my entire Avalanche and it turned it from grey to black and still going strong for almost 2 years now.. And the truck is always outside

I am still experimenting and have found that 2 coats will help the trim appearance last longer. The product goes a long way, thin coats are recommended. I have a 2002 Avalanche and this is so far the best product that I have found for the job.

I'm about to reapply. It has been one year. I love this stuff 

I have had the first application on since last summer. I will reapply it again before fall. I love this stuff 

It depends on the type and condition of the trim you are treating. Following the manufacturer's directions will achieve best results and will last longer. A 12 oz bottle treats up to 36 vehicles* as long as it is used as directed.
