Default Paint to Match & Electronics?

I've recently started my interior paint to match project on my '16 Lariat making the original camel/ tan color to satin black.

I'm about to remove the dash/ panel under the steering wheel that houses the Start/ Stop, headlight, and pedal adjustment buttons. Should I disconnect the battery for any reason before doing this?

Should I disconnect the battery before removing B Pillars? Last thing I want is to be surprised/ destroyed by my air bag lol. Appreciate any help...here are some pictures!

Air bags scare me. I always disconnect the battery while working around them.

Very true lol. It's a simple procedure and better safe than sorry.

I guess my question is more to satisfy my curiosity because I really am terrible when it comes to electronics... Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect when unplugging switches (start/ stop, headlight, power windows/ locks, etc). Eventually I'm going to swap my stock headlights for Morimotos...should I disconnect then?

I swapped my headlights out with the battery still connected. I didn't have any problems. The other switches will probably be OK too, but I would keep your key FOB away from the truck.
