Dapepper9: when you say unavailable you mean the whole intake manifold?
Thanks

Whole manifold, or any of the pieces of it. There's zero orderable parts to repair or replace the manifold

I visited a dealership the other day and I gave them my VIN #. He said that there are available online knock-off intake manifolds, non-Ford parts. Am I taking my chances buying one of these, if they do exist? Thanks ahead of time.

I find that hard to believe considering nobody makes an OE replacement

I searched a few months back and had not luck so I believe what you say. The question I have for you is with knock-off parts so ubiquitous why is this 2017 Ford F-150 air intake manifold not being duplicated by parts makers?

TLDR; idk lol

I figure it probably works something like this. For the record, I’ve done zero research into actual numbers and am making it up as I go purely for example.
Let’s say Ford made exactly 1 million F150 trucks each year 2015-2017. So in 2015, we can assume somewhere around 1/3 of those trucks had the 5.0, another 1/3 had 3.5 Eco with the last 1/3 being split between 2.7 Eco and NA v6. Well call it 320k 5.0, 400k 3.5 and the rest the others. Why? I think they made more 3.5 eco and it’s my hypothetical lol.
So 320k trucks that could possibly experience the issue each year, add up the years you still got about 1 million. Last I had heard, Ford had somewhere around 5,000 manifolds backordered with no estimated delivery date. This is prior to making a batch of 4-5,000 and fixing those ones already. We’ll call it 15,000 manifolds done by Ford between those 2 numbers + whatever amount they did when they were still making the manifolds. You can probably argue that they see at least half of the trucks that have this issue, probably a bit more, maybe 60%. The rest are split between independent shops, DIY repair and aftermarket upgrade swappers like myself.

In theory, that doesn’t leave a lot of room for profit for a company like Dorman considering the tooling investment it would require. Gotta remember, most parts are farmed out to 3rd parties during vehicle manufacture but Ford themselves is who made the manifolds. That’s a huge investment for not a ton of units to sell, especially when Ford could preventatively eliminate the problem with just a software update. How does that fix the rods breaking off on the back? By locking them open. Those with the issue can be removed, locked open and software updated. They play such a small role in actual operation they wouldn’t even need to adjust fueling or spark. Maybe minor edits to the torque model but again, minor adjustment maybe. It would be rather simple for them to do a TSB and pretty much wash their hands of it whilst never needing to actually produce more manifolds.

If anyone finds an aftermarket, please post the info.
Been waiting over a year now for Ford to start making then again. Have seen some dealers post "discontinued".
Am considering other options to solve this.
