p1674 code-control module software corrupted
I purchased my 2017 F150 Ecoboost with the 10 speed transmission 3 months ago. It has 42,000 miles on it. Yesterday, while driving it to grab lunch, my check engine light comes on so I run it down to the local Ford dealer, (not the dealer I purchased it from). I purchased it from a Ford dealer about 60 miles from where I live.
They take a look at it and tell me they will have to drop the transmission to really see what the problem is, and that they are backed up for 2 weeks with their transmission guy. They suggest I call the dealer I purchased the truck from and let them know I have an issue with the transmission and the check engine light code. I could tell they were suggesting I call the other dealer because I bought it from them and they should stand behind the truck. Keep in mind this will be covered under warranty.
I followed their advice and will be taking it to the dealer 60 miles away on Tuesday. The mechanic there believes they can do an update on the control module to fix the issue, but we will see. I will keep everyone posted. All I know is, the transmission in my truck has made clunking sounds since day one. The only time the transmission seems smooth is when I put it in Sport mode.
Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.

Follow up-I just received a phone call from the dealer concerning my check engine light and the code. The service lady tells me the code is for the fuel rail pressure sensor. Really...at 42,000 miles the pressure sensor goes bad? Sooooo....I will be spending $400 tomorrow and pick up my truck that had better run correctly. I'm not saying they are giving me the flim flam, but I am a little suspicious. When I had them run the code at Advance they said the code stated, control module software corrupted...and when I took it to the first Ford dealer, they told me they would need to drop the transmission to get an accurate diagnosis. But when I take it to the dealer I bought it from, they are telling me it is the fuel rail pressure sensor, which by the way is not covered under warranty. I will update if I get another check engine light down the road.

Was it the fuel rail pressure sensor after all ?
Did the knocking go away ?
My buddy's 2017 F150 is doing the same thing. Code P1674 and knocking occasionally underneath while driving up hills.
Anyone ?
The 1674 code involves the Transmission Control Module.
Work shop manual says clear the code and do a test of that Module to see if the code returns, then follow the procedure.
You can't do that test unless you have the tool to do so, and how to do it.
You need those involved to be honest about this. That's all we can tell you.
The Module may need a program update if it is a program Corruption issue.
What the noise is is a separate question.
Good luck.

I took it back to the dealer I purchased it from and they replaced the part in the fuel rail. The code was cleared and never came back. I had the software update performed that was suggested by Ford about 2 years ago. I still have some cold start knocking at start up, but not much knocking while driving since the software update.
