Many of you may already know, but It is disheartening, that our Beds are not sealed, and although works well when washing your bed out, it's not so pleasant when your driving in the Rain, where mud and road salt is coming thru the spaces where the wall's meet the bed...

Oh! and don't use any Silicone, because it has acidic contents, and can damage Aluminum...

It is shocking, and maybe a letter to FORD would clarify, or even provide a TSB for those of us who would like it sealed...

I'm a thinkin' that there are many people who don't even know their bed leaks...I didn't know until I read this post, and I actually noticed today when I washed the bed that water disappeared quickly. I should have thought what goes in must come out...lol and visa-versa...

Has anyone ever written a letter to FORD to get a TSB enacted or at the very least some help with this issue...?

You need a tarp or a large sheet of plastic to make a red neck hot tub.

For those of us with tonneau covers or canopies that drive on gravel roads it would be nice to seal the bed to keep the dust out. I bought a tailgate seal for mine thinking that was where the dust was coming in , but after having a look in the bed I realized most of it is coming through the bed sides. I can see the ground looking down through mine. Don't even know if I could get silicon to stay in such a big gap. I haven't wasted my time installing the tailgate seal yet until I can figure out how to seal the sides. Thanks for the heads up about not using silicon. Might have to install a bed liner over my factory bed guard.

I know this is clearly a travesty.

But riddle me this....how is accumulated water and snow supposed to get out of the bed with it all sealed up?

Notice no drain holes like the days of yesteryear?

Most beds aren't sealed off would make sense

It's not a problem for most, but I haul my dog around with me and when she's uncomfortable because she's cold, wet, and dirty, that's a problem to me.

Ford says no silicone, but if getting the bed spray lined then sealing the edges with silicone seems like it would be OK to me. No?

Seems like your spray liner guy could tape them off from underneath and fill them with spray goop.
