Default wet bed-15' 150

Sand and silt, this is after cleaning the bed at about 2000 miles

The light is sunlight on concrete seen through slots

silt running out form behind OE led lights

Hi all. I’m seeking assistance for a perceived qualitycontrol issue. When driving in rain or wet streets I have castoff (water, sand & silt) from my tiresthat enters through 2 small slots at the rear of my bed, around the bed lightsand unsealed seams. I opted for the wheel well liners that seem to be of nohelp. I have a bed cover with an as yet uninstalled tailgate seal. My 97’ hasshielding that prevents this as well as the bed was factory seam sealed beforepainting. The other 15’s at my dealer are built the same way and I haven’t checked the 16’s. My dealer statesthis is for water drainage. This doesn’t fly with my past experience of almostevery PU I’ve ever laid eyes on. Also most PU’s have the drains at the front ofthe bed since most PU’s lean forward. Does anyone know if these issues can befixed by Ford? Is there a shield kit? Recommended black sealer to match myfactory bed liner? Thanks

I think Ford specifically warns against using silicone on the aluminum body.

Heard this too. They specified what to use but now I'm drawing a blank. Hopefully somebody chimes in with the info from Ford

I'd like to know too. I got tonno and tailgate seals and my stuff still gets dirty and wet from those areas.

They are probably water drains for the bed. No pool party!

Wonder what the sealer on the roof is made of, bet you could use that.

It's a truck. The bed is supposed to be dirty.

If it's really that big of a deal to you seal it with some seam sealer already.

robbieg, no dispute on the service bulletin. I've found black in color seam sealer which I might try. Seam sealer is used extensively almost every vehicle. I can't understand why they didn't seal it from the factory. Also why isn't there a shield of some sort?

An ashtray is supposed to be dirty also but some people choose to keep it clean.
