Default The Other "Engine Diaper"?

I found this hanging down after a recent drive. Truck only has about 5000 miles on it. It is further forward underneath the engine, not the normal "engine diaper" that is further back and must be removed for an oil change, part number JL3Z-7222-D. I removed it from the truck as I do not see what purpose it serves besides some slight protection from small road debris, but I can't find the part number referenced anywhere if I wanted to replace it. The part number appears to be FL34-16048-AG, but trying to google that number or variants of that number are not coming up with much?

Mine does that as well. Some day I'll look at trying to support the "wings" so they stay up.

I think if we drill a hole, some zip ties would help with the wings. I hope mine lats until next oil change so I can add something. They are an engineering embarrassment in my opinion.

Splash shield for trucks without the skid plate (FX4). The number stamped on the part is the engineering number vice a Ford part number. I googled the part number for a 2015-2019 truck. It is FL3Z-16054-B.

My first thought when I saw the picture was that you ran over a Ford EcoSport and picked up some road debris.

I'm waiting waiting for the next warm day so I can replace the high tech cardboard with the steel skid plate set I got from RCI Metalworks.
