Canyon...I right there with you on this. I have made a couple of posts in other threads some weeks back about this very issue. Worse is that I only want / need a regular cab. My build also includes the heavy duty payload package, an absolute necessity for me since I am replacing a 2500 Ram. As you said Ford limits the options / packages on XLT's (as well as regular cabs). I sure would like to have the 302a package and / or center console, bucket seats and floor shifter. Not to mention I would not mind leather. But some bean counter has figured out that most regular cabs and XLT's are "work" trucks and do not need such extras. MEH. I am at the point of looking into how difficult it would be to add the center console and floor shifter as well as installing katzkins leather on the seats. Like LSchicago said, I want a "... a nicely optioned truck".

Here is the link to my XLT and you can see all the pics and I know it is not exactly how you want but you can see the inside and some of the options.

I ordered xlt 302a sport package 4x4 crew 6.6 box.5.0 3.73 trailer tow mirrors, brake controller, blue flame, kicker sub.Only disappointed that you can't get auto climate control with this package. Should be a decent trailer pulling unit and fun too drive empty plus give decent fuel economy.

If you go for the HD payload, the sport (or chrome) package is not available anymore. These weird things are what is preventing me from buying a new F150. I've built every trim level from XL to platinum online, and every time something I feel is a must have is not available because of another option. I've even tried with the EB, which I don't want. I bleed Ford blue, but this is one area the competition excels at. Way better Ala Carte options availability. Ford seems to get worse over time on this. I want the nicest interior (with floor shift) in a trim level, with at least a supercab, and increase hauling & towing than the RCSB I have now. I do not want a Super Duty. I've been driving them as tow trucks for 20 years, and much prefer the F150. At this point I might consider going to another brand, even though every preference is Ford. They just won't build what I want.
