Default Order in for my new Platinum

Got my order in to replace my ‘15 XLT. Because it’s not a common build, I couldn’t find one on the lot so I’ll just wait. Here’s the build:

’19 Platinum 157” 4x2 Ingot Silver, Black interior
3.5 EB, 701a, Max Tow, Pano roof, Power Tow Mirrors

I’m actually keeping my ‘15 in my business fleet. Super excited for the Platty. First time ever, I got the exact tuck I wanted with no compromises. Build week is scheduled for 5/13. I’ll send out some pics when I take delivery. 😁

That's awesome, congrats. I custom built my first F-150 two years back and so glad I did as mine was a tad unusual as well and love getting everything exactly how I wanted it.

I know we all have our own preferences, but I am curious to ask why the 4x2, espcially with the max tow?

Congrat's! Not far off of my truck. Wish I had the tow mirrors, but glad I have the shorter wheel base and 4x4. That's the great thing about these trucks. Each can get darn near what they want.

Thanks! I live in South Florida and put on 20-30k urban miles/ year. This truck will never see snow or ice as long as I own it, I don't have a boat or airboat, and I keep my trucks too long to be concerned with resale value. Just no use for the extra cost, maintenance, or weight for my use.

I completely agree for where you live. Grew up in S FL and 4 wheel drive is useless there unless you pull boats out of the water or just enjoy offroading. It's a waste of fuel and I think the 2 wheel drive trucks handle better.

Now that I live in the N Ga mountains, I want/need 4 wheel drive, but I don't think they drive as well or get as good of fuel mileage.

As a strange side note, I don't know if it's normal, but my panoramic roof makes creaking noises over uneven surfaces. Kind of disappointed since the Lincoln I traded in, that also had a panoramic roof, didn't make a peep over the same surfaces. If I could go back in time, I'd search for a Platinum without the roof option. Just a FYI.

Enjoy your new truck!

BTW, I have a small pest control company. Here’s a few of the other rigs in my fleet. Hoping to add a 350 for some of the bigger lawn jobs I have.

Just curious... When did your dealer place your order? And how long before you got your serial #?

I ordered one last Tuesday and am waiting (patiently?) for any news/production date, etc....

I got Max Tow in my RWD because I wanted the 36 gallon fuel tank and 3.55 rear end. The only way you could get it.

That isn't true, unless you have something else unique. I have a 36 gallon tank and 3.55s in my 2017, and I just ordered a 2019 Lariat with 3.55 ELocker and 36 Gallon tank, no tow package at all. On the Ford configurator I built your truck by selecting the 36 gal and 3.55 ELocker on a 4x2 with the 3.5 Eco, didn't complain.

Doesn't hurt to have it, but if you have to order another for some reason and don't want the expense I can't see any reason why you would need the max tow. The 36 Gallon tank and 3.55s have been non-package items for as long as I remember.
