Default Order Modification

Recently, I asked if I could change my XLT Supercrew Sport to include the max tow package. I have the 3.73 gears along with the 5.0, but I wanted the stronger bumper and aux trans cooler. My truck has a VIN number but hasn't entered production yet.

The dealer keeps telling me that this cannot be added to my truck. Are they feeding me crap or is this true?

I tried to add the tow package to mine before it even had a vin assigned and the dealer said I couldn't. He showed me his computer screen and said there are only certain things you can change without having to resubmit the entire order.

So my guess would be that he's telling the truth...

Max tow requires the 3.5 ecoboost. It also changes the axel to 3.55

My mistake - I meant the trailer tow package instead of just getting the Class IV hitch.

I've have added options to mine 3 times now and I have a VIN.

I was told I could until it is bulled to build, then that is it. One the changes was going from 2 wd to 4x4 one week after my initial order and that one required me to cancel and re-order. The rest did not.

Thanks CurryBob!
I called the sales manager up and told him what transpired. He is working on the change order...hopefully he can get it through. I have not been too pleased with the internet sales team so far. Lazy and unresponsive.

I hear ya, just go to their boss and I bet he will straighten them out!!

Make them send you copies of the new buyers order when you get your changes through!

Make sure you have the managers email also so if you don't get timely responses to your emails, you can then forward to him! I guarantee you they will not be slow from then on.

Good Luck!
