Even more reason not to wait for the OLM to tell you to change the oil on the first oil change.

They shouldn't be resetting the OLM upon delivery unless they changed the oil or at least the filter.

but yes OLM in the values it counts by hours. It will do so as long as there is battery power - if you were to unhook the battery it would be "off" so to speak.

It is independent of other systems on the car and it is wholly within the ECU. And yes sitting still will indeed take away % life off OLM baseline. it is part of the requirement.

WHY you ask - despite what some oil companies might say marketing or otherwise none so far will warrant protection levels past a 1 year mark. IE that additives and the factors that make up the TBN in an oil analysis for new clean out the bottle oil supposedly will only last 1 year. according to the likes of Castrol, Exxon, and others. Since OLM is based on the oil used under company banner (in your case motorcraft) - then it's only allowed to live so long in the sump. Think of this as Max Oil Life - and everything is subtracted from there.

You seem to have omitted his reply to the last multiple quotes you stitched together. Another form of "fake news".

Was this intentional, just so you could post and prove you're right? Are you sure you're old enough to drive?

Nothing wrong with a man admitting he's made a mistake.

It's sad that some on here will go out of their way to PROVE that they are right and you are wrong. We can read the posts ourselves and put it all together.
