Default Oil drain plug locatiom.

I have viewed various videos portraying 2.7 oil changes, but they all lack one thing, i.e. while the canister filter location is obvious (up front, passenger side, where precisely is the oil drain plug relative to other engine components? Is it located on the (1) front of the sump, (2) rear of the sump, (3) passenger side of the sump, or (4) driver side of the sump?

Rear of the sump. You have to take 4 screws out and drop the rear splash shield to find drain plug and drain oil. The front shield does not have to be disturbed. The pan plug is plastic. Oil comes put in a gush.

This is on my 4X2 Supercrew..

I have friends with 2015 Edges & 2016 MKXs (transverse 2.7 engines) that I have been trying to assist with DIY oil changes. Since their engines are simply rotated 90 degrees clockwise (canister filter is located rear, passenger side of engine), I assume their oil drain plugs would be rotated (from your F150 perspective) 90 degrees clockwise to the driver's side of the sump...unless (caveat) Ford/Lincoln locates the sump drain in differing locations depending on vehicle application.
