I checked VIN 3112 Platinum out yesterday and the center armrest protrudes some, but not quite that much. Wasn't flush though on the one I looked at. Platinum with Brunello interior.

Hi everyone,
I (obviously) took delivery yesterday. Thanks for the kind words. I love 99% of the truck. However, there is something in the back seat that really concerns me. I wanted to see if anyone that recently took delivery has this same issue.
the back seat, fold-down arm rest does not "FIT" back into the spot on the back rest. It seems misaligned and will not recess back in this opening.
I tried to take a few picture - sorry about the flash. Anyone considering a KR - ignore this color - the leather does not look like this - its the flash.
thanks - I appreciate your thoughts and if yours fits better or the same.

I just did a quick look at a bunch of trucks on cars.com to see the rear seats. A fair number had a protrusion like yours, but many were much less pronounced or flat. So it doesn't appear to be a normal trait.

My truck came from another location in the same company. It has 55 miles on it. I saw it when it pulled in and an older woman got out so it did not worry me too much. I have not looked at the door gap and I guess it does not stand out too much or I would have noticed. The rear door is hard to close and I was just thinking it was an air issue. I also have not looked at the rear armrest. The paint on the underside is not a big deal to me but I would agree it would not have been that big of a deal to paint it.
My only complaint is the sound quality is just not what I expected. I traded a 2012 platinum for a 2015 Platinum and the radio is 10 steps backwards in quality. This really disappointed me. I tried another 2015 Platinum and the poor quality was the same. The dealer gave me the name of a local shop that does their sound work. Really on a 61,000 dollar truck? It should have a much better sound quality. At 3/4 volume it is distorted and not half as loud as my 2012 was at 1/2 volume.
I find the self dimming headlight a little touchy but I have not tried adjusting them. The LED headlight are a huge improvement! I love the adaptive cruise control. I live where it is flat and the current transmission seems just fine with me but we have no serious hills to deal with.
I picked up a set of all mats and they too are not as nice as the factory set on my 2012. I guess Weathertech will have some out soon and I will order those. as I find the front set really lacks.
I have had the truck for 4 days now and it has under 200 miles on so my finding don't mean much other then I could easily tell the sound was not up to par.
I guess a lot of us are getting ready to find out well the heat and defrost works with the extreme cold coming!

I looked at a picture on ebay of a Ford OE 2015 mat set and they look like a cheapo, off brand, box store rubber floor mat. Lightweight and not a nice appearance.
Maybe Ford got scared off by the huge legal suits Toyota got from heavier mats lodging under the gas pedal and went to their own version of a crappy mat. Toyota, FWIW, did away with the "10 cent hook" that retained the mats on drivers side, then the lawyers took over. My Toyota mats are the "pre legal suit, heavyweight OE style" and look like most all weather mats of the past IME. The replacement mat they were forcing on people (like me-but I hid mine so they couldn't take them!) was thin a crappy weight, like the Ford mats I saw in the picture. i didn't order them on my XLT for the above reason.

Here's the post:
I was looking over a Platinum Screw on the dealers lot (while patiently waiting for mine to arrive) and noticed that the rear seat fold down center armrest did not fit into the seatback correctly. It stuck out slightly. When you would sit in the center seat and lean back into the seat the cup holder would release from hitting the top of the seatback hole. When you lean forward the holder would pop up and slide up the front of the seatback. Leaning back again would probably break it off.
