Hello F150 Forum!!

For nearly 5 years now, I've been enjoying my 2018 F150 FX4 Sport...she was a dealer demo and they put every imaginable option on it...quite the beast. I do have a few of the usual problems I have already spotted in a quick glance down the forum...3.5L cam phasers, Pano Roof problems (likely the rails), have had to replace the tranny...reassuring in a sense to see I am not alone on those issues.

My next problem is an odd one. Does anyone else have a drivers airbag where the separation seams where the airbag would blow open are starting to split due to use of the horn? Can you replace just the black airbag cover, or is the airbag and Ford cover come as all one component? Will probably be selling this in the next year or two and don't want the potential new owner to think I've been in an accident because the airbag seams are busting on the steering wheel.

Hmmmm...OK thanks. Out of all the vehicles I've owned since airbags became a thing, this is the ONLY one that has ever started to split it's seams. Not very cool.

 

There has been the occasional posting here with this problem. It is not a common issue but you are not the only one.

 

Wow that's a bummer! I'll have to remember to limit my use of the horn. I've not heard of this issue before...

 

Mine is splitting like that too. I work in the collision industry and the area that is splitting is the airbag assy, cant just replace the cover.
