Default OBDII Adapter

I recently purchased the VINT ELM327 OBDII adapter to use for FORScan. After using it two times it bit the dust and I can no longer connect with it. The switch seems to be real loose and not making any connection. Needless to say it's going back to Amazon. My question is which adapter does most everyone use? I know in the FORScan Tutorial they recommend the OBDLink EX USB Auto-Switch. But they also list the one I originally purchased, which is total junk. What has members used without any problems?

ELM Config by OHP.

Are you certain it is the OBD device and not a software/security issue?

Share your errors -a bunch of uses are smart at knowing why you are unable to conect.
Me for example, I have to log in to my laptop as administrator to use the FORScan software. No connection is established if logged in as my user name.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is the OBD device. The switch just doesn't have that snappy movement it first did. It kind of flops back and forth and doesn't feel like it is making good connection.
