Default Noticed this on rear diff - should I be concerned?

While washing the truck today I noticed what looks to be silicone or some kind of seal on my rear diff. I did not actually crawl under truck bc I was on my way to work when I noticed it. Is this just excess peeling off or what? Has anyone else had issues?

I haven't noticed any leaks yet but will double check garage floor when I get home. This is my first truck so it might not be a big deal but thought I'd ask.
Thanks

It's looks like some sealant that just came out when they bolted it up. No worries as long as it's not leaking

I wouldn't worry for 1 second about it. Its just the excess that squeezed out when the cover was tightened. you wouldn't beleive how much might be inside the diff....the HORROR!!!!!

There is no gasket on those rear diff covers. They just use an rtv silicone, and as already mentioned, that is simply the excess that squeezed out when the cover was torqued down. You can scrap it off if you're ocd and the aesthetics bother you.

I'm surprised that no one here said they would demand a new truck since the quality control is terrible
