Default Is it normal or is it the battery?

Greetings all!

Quick question: During auto restarts I can see in the reflection of the car ahead, my headlights dim a little. There is also a slight difference in the speed of the windshield wipers when it is off. Not much... but noticeable. This is a 2016 and still on the OEM battery. Is the dimming normal or should I consider a new battery in the near future? It's not anything major... TBH, it's just a little embarrassing. That's all. My instinct says that the auto start doesn't shut the engine off if the battery was charging, so if it detects it as full, it is probably not a battery issue. Still, I am new to all the new-fangly bits on this truck and figured I would ask.

THANKS!!

Mine does the same thing. I believe it's normal. The truck is into it's 3rd winter with no indications that the battery is losing it's life.

Sounds like its just the extra load on the electrical system having to turn the starter causing it to dim for a brief second. Wouldn't be worried about it.

It is normal. Mine does same exact thing. Starter require a large amount of electrical current to engage, causing a slight lost of current to all other accessories being used. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks y'all. I kinda figg'rd that was what was going on. I know starters require a fair bit of current, but sitting quietly with the engine off at stoplights, when thing get a tad... ummm... slow and dim?... I just thought I would see if it was a typical thing. :-)
