Default Non-Warrantable Failures

Ok...Yesterday I sent my truck to the shop because the passenger side bed step would not close. It was closed and I took it to have it washed. I watched as they were wiping down the truck and when they were done I asked them to clean the dirt off the side bed step. The girl opened it and sprayed it down and then it simply would not close.
Having read a few issues with these steps I figured that this might be a growing concern on these trucks. When I received the call I was told this was not going to be a warrantable repair. After inquiring the reason I was told they would show me. When I picked up my truck I was handed a rock about the size of a large marble. It had apparently fallen down and was lodged in the step so they had to break the rock to remove it.
Just goes to show you that you never know what they will find when you take your truck in...sometimes its a failed part, sometimes something outside has caused your problem.
The step works great again!

Well if it is caused by a foreign object- then now warranty. For example Honda has a bad design that allows rocks to hit the a/c condenser. No warranty...

Yep, I agree. I never expected it to be that since it was closed, opened for a minute and then wouldn't close but you never know until it's looked at. I guess I could have crawled under it and checked myself but I'm too lazy.
