Default Non towing

I have a 2016 truck that I would like to add the stock controller, but was told by a fairway ford my truck didn't have the setup for it. I was wondering if there was anyway to make it work?

buy oem controller, install it and use Forscan to turn it on or take it to dealer to turn on.

Or buy aftermarket, plug and go play.

If your truck has the tow package, then the harness and connector is already there for the OEM and you can do it yourself. Very easy, activate is with FORScan or dealer, as Raider said. If not then there should be a pigtail connector in the glove box you can use to hook up an aftermarket controller.

Thanks guys. I saw a pig tail in my glove box didn't know what it was for. So I have to use aftermarket since I don't have oem?

like CJ said, if your truck came with tow package, the wiring for OEM controller is there, just need to buy and install it then activate it. If you dont have tow package, or dont want the headache of going to dealer, just use the pigtail and install an aftermarket one. They are plug and play

If your truck did not come with a tow package. Yes. I have never looked at the pigtail, so I don't know what is all involved.
