Default Non-camera grille?

Have been looking at replacement camera ready grilles for my 16 Lariat so I can install a camera-source.com front and side kit. Tonight, I noticed there are lines like I could cut out the emblem housing and fit the OE front camera in my grille. Has anyone done this? Are the tabs for mounting the OE camera in place behind the emblem housing?

It goes without saying that I haven't pulled the existing grille to see if the tabs/mounts are there. Just seeing if the forum community can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I have a Chrome 3-bar grille that came with my Lariat 502A package.

I am in the same boat. I have the front/side camera-source kit, but decided to change out the grill to the factory OEM hole type. Had to send the surface mount front cam back and waiting for the grill camera. I got the new grill in already.

I haven't considered the idea you mentioned. I suppose it could be done. It's not very difficult to swap out the grill though. I've already done it once going from the XLT grill to the Lariat.

Does your grille have the lines for the camera cut-out?

I have not looked at it that close enough to say that I have. The lines are on the inside of the black inner grill? I can check tomorrow in the daylight and see.

No. on the outside. Lines on the bottom side of the Chrome emblem. Looks like same cutout for grille with camera option.

I see what you are talking about. It does look like a knockout on the bottom side of the oval chrome. But looking from the back of a factory camera grill, that part looks like it's removed , and also part the black rib under that.
